Biography
Dr. Koohsorkhi received his BSc and MSc in physics from Shahrood University of Technology and the University of Tehran in 2002 and 2005, and his PhD in nanotechnology (nanoelectronics) from the University of Tehran in 2009. He is an associate professor and head of the Department of Microtechnology and Photonics, directs the Advanced Micro/Nano Device Fabrication Laboratory and manages the School's cleanroom.
His research covers MEMS sensor design and fabrication, focusing on mechanical, self-powered and acoustic sensors, smart acoustic systems, plasmonics and bio-microfluidics, with a strong interest in machine learning for process intelligence. Recent work includes self-powered sensors for turbine monitoring, smart speakers, nano-antennas and MEMS flow meters.
