Biography

Dr. Nikfarjam holds a PhD in electronics from K. N. Toosi University of Technology and completed post-doctoral research in nanotechnology at Sharif University of Technology. He founded and directs the MEMS/NEMS Laboratory and established the School's micro-electromechanical systems programme. He has 60 journal papers, 67 conference papers, seven patents and supervised the exemplary thesis at the 24th University of Tehran Research Festival.

He has led eight university research projects and many more in his knowledge-based company, including smart glass, multispectral smart coatings, a micro gas chromatograph, an underground gas-leak locator, a blood-coagulation analyser, a digoxin test kit and a cancer-cell separation kit, many of them firsts in Iran and some worldwide. As secretary of the international technical committee TC113 he contributed to 20 international and four national nanoelectronics standards.
